Fuse Coffee Stays Connected to its Community through C Spire

The funky and future-inspired Fuse Coffee sits in a historic building on the downtown square in Troy, Alabama, a cornerstone of this vibrant enclave in the state’s rolling Wiregrass Region.
“Troy is a small college town with a big heart,” says owner Adam Vinson, a longtime Troy resident who grew up in a nearby community. Over the past few years, Vinson’s downtown café has become a popular gathering place for locals and Troy University students alike.
“Fuse is like a magnet for people from all walks of life,” he says. High schoolers, college students and nearby business owners are all patrons, and even NFL recruiters have used Fuse’s meeting room. But he credits his regulars with making the shop a success. "I've got customers that come in two and three times a day," he says. "Especially downtown, everybody knows everybody."
Fuse serves up beverages based on the single-origin Guatemalan and Brazil coffee beans roasted in the back room. But its top seller isn’t your standard cup of coffee — it’s the Trojan Buzz, a 24-hour cold brew sweetened with local honey and whole milk and named for Troy University’s mascot. "Three ingredients and the truth," Vinson says.
Behind the counter, Fuse bakes fresh cinnamon rolls alongside the Conecuh sausage, garlic and cheddar biscuits Vinson calls the shop's “bread and butter.”
But Fuse runs on high-speed internet connectivity as much as strong coffee. Smart TVs, a POS system, a public printer, and a steady stream of remote workers all depend on the shop's WiFi. “It's extremely important for me to have reliable internet service,” he says.
For that, he relies on C Spire. "I use C Spire internet and phone service," he says. "I get my honey locally, I get my coffee roasted locally, and I get my internet locally. It's really good to know that C Spire, being a local company that it is, really has me covered."
